Terms of Service

Fore Putt Scoring does not process, hold, or guarantee wagers. All bets are private arrangements between players.

We record what your group tells us about its own bets and do the arithmetic on who owes whom. That is the entire service. Money never moves through Fore Putt Scoring. We take no fee, commission, or cut of any wager, we never hold funds, and we do not guarantee that anyone will actually pay you.

Where the app links to Venmo, it is opening Venmo with the amount filled in. The payment happens between you and the other player, inside Venmo, under Venmo's terms. We are not a party to it.

You are responsible for making sure the bets your group runs are legal where you are playing. Do not use Fore Putt Scoring for anything that is not a private, social wager between people who know each other.

Only the organizer creates an account, and it is a six-digit code sent to an email address. There is no password.

Everyone else — scorekeepers, players, spectators — gets in through an unguessable link. Anyone holding that link can see the tournament, and anyone holding a scorekeeper link can enter scores for that group. Treat those links the way you would treat a door key: share them with your group and nobody else. If a link gets out, the organizer can ask us to retire it.

Scores are entered by people in your group, not by us. Fore Putt Scoring shows you what was entered and keeps a history of changes. It cannot tell you whether a score was right.

The organizer is responsible for the accuracy of handicaps, the tees each player is on, the bet types and stakes, and for settling any dispute about a result. The final word on a scorecard belongs to your group, not to the app.

Do not use Fore Putt Scoring to run a commercial gambling operation, to harass anyone, to upload content you do not have the right to share, or to attempt to reach tournaments you were not given a link to. We can suspend access that does any of these.

Fore Putt Scoring is early software running a beta program. It can be unavailable, it can lose data, and it can change without notice. Golf courses in particular have dead zones where a phone cannot reach the internet; the app holds scores on the device and sends them when service returns, but no offline system is perfect.

Keep a paper scorecard for anything that matters. That is good advice for any scoring app, including the ones that charge you.

Fore Putt Scoring is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost scores, incorrect settlement figures, disputes between players, missed payments, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using the service.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top tells you when they last moved. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
